Web Data Connectors defect in Tableau 2021.1

We ran into an interesting defect with Web Data Connectors given the volume of people interacting with our Brilliant Connectors for Tableau.

At present, Tableau Server 2021.1 is unable to refresh Web Data Connectors that are scheduled to run. The only workaround is to manually refresh the datasource and republish it back to the server. Painful but yes, for now.

It is a known defect and Tableau R&D is working to fix it for one of its future releases.

However, every such case also becomes an opportunity to enhance and make Brilliant Manager for Tableau that much more valuable. If you would like to be able to refresh your data sources and schedule them for refresh outside of Tableau Server using Event Direct Execution in a chain like job tree, please vote for the idea on our Ideas forum. We’d love to hear from ya!
